The writer compared the amount of carbon when the energy source produces the energy to emphasize that nuclear is great environment friendly then fossil fuel. Because, the fossil fuel release the large amount of carbon which is the one of greenhouse gasses when they produce the energy but nuclear does not. The writer write about the negative opinion of using nuclear energy like unexpected disaster, but he also suggested the solution and opposite side of the problem that more developed his statement.
